Do What You Love

There are many ways to make money online and I spent a lot of time initially doing whatever I thought would bring in money. Whatever the gurus were pushing, I was buying. And I made some money through these methods. I probably would have made more had I actually enjoyed the methods that they were promoting.

Then there was a shift.

In 2012, I learned about writing books and putting them in the Kindle marketplace on Amazon.com. I always enjoyed writing so I thought I’d give it a try. I started with non-fiction and my first book out of the gate was a home run! I had more than 6,000 free downloads in one day, which lead to a $1K+ month.

I was hooked!

I put out 20 additionally books that year and another 18 the following year. Some books were hits, some were not. But I enjoyed the process and I loved that Amazon.com provided some marketing (so that I didn’t have to) and a boatload of buyers. Most importantly, I was able to truly give value with a method that I enjoyed.

And that, I believe, is the heart of creating a business that you love.

Now, there is a new kid on the self-publishing block. It is called Coloring Books for Adults. What I love about this concept is that there is no writing involved, so anyone can create and publish these types of books. They sell like crazy and are easy and fun to create.

If you are looking for a fun way to get into the publishing arena, check out Bill Platt’s Coloring Books for Adults. In this easy-to-follow guide, he takes you step-by-step through the process. Included with the product is access to a very active Facebook group comprised of enthusiastic individuals who are generously sharing their tips.

If you decide to give Coloring Books for Adults a try, please let me know how it goes. If you need any help with any aspect of publishing to Amazon.com, feel free to contact me. I’d love to help!
