Building A Passive Income During Difficult Times

passive income

I am back! It has been many months since I have posted on my blog because I have not found anything in the past several months worthy enough to share.

I am back today to talk about building a passive income. Is it real? Can it be done? And to discuss why having at least one passive income stream is more important now than ever before.

Why Is Having A Passive Income Stream Important?

The pandemic of the past year has seen many businesses close and many of these will never reopen. Jobs have been lost. Income has come to a halt for far too many. But I have also seen many people reinvent themselves and prosper during this time, too.

I have been making money online since 2003. I have done this by working with small businesses to create an online presence, I have written Kindle books, I have started a business on Amazon, and through this blog, I have helped countless others start an online business through marketing. All of these have brought in a steady income, allowing me to stay at home to care for my daughter who has several disabilities. While having a passive income has been critical for me over the past 18 years, now more than ever, it is critical for everyone.

Which Business Models Offer the Best Chance At Passive Income?

Some of the business models I have chosen have provided passive income: I do the work once and it continues to pay me over and over again. My Kindle books have provided a passive income. All of the business models I chose are a side-gig; none of them take a lot of time and several I started while still working a 9-5 job.

The Amazon business I started years ago was a struggle to get started. It involved sourcing products, relabeling them, stocking them, getting them listed on Amazon, and then driving traffic to them so that they could be found and purchased by those in need of them. It was a struggle to get started and it was expensive. It took me more than 9 months to turn a profit and a lot of trial and error over the years as I have tried to perfect my system. In the big scheme of things, 9 months to turn a profit is not a lot of time. And it has provided a fairly passive income. I put about 10 hours a month into that business today, and in return, I make a good income.

But now I have learned that there is a better way.

Recently I learned about another way to do business on Amazon and that involves selling wholesale products. It takes away the majority of headaches, trial and error, and expense that I went through. The 7-minute video below is an interview with Roberta about why she finds this way of selling on Amazon to be the best.

I hope to see you on the training. I will be there, also, to learn the details of this business model.

A note about the reviews on this site: I am an affiliate for every product I review. Most of the time, I have purchased the product that I have reviewed. Sometimes vendors of these products give me them without charge in order for me to test them. However, all of my reviews are done as honestly as possible. No promises are made to the vendor regarding my review. If you click a link on this site that takes you to a paid product, the link will be an affiliate link, which means that I will be paid a percentage of the sales price, if you decide to purchase that product.
