As a Shoestring Marketer, I am always on the lookout for free tools to help me in my business. I thought I’d share some of my findings with you today.
Free Stock Photos. Looking for a picture for your blog? I use stock.xchng. You need to sign up to use their photos, but it is free, as long as you give the artist credit when you use the photo. The photo to the left is from stock.xchng.
Another fabulous photo site is Flickr.com. When searching for photos in Flickr, use the Advanced Search feature and search only for Creative Commons licensed photos that you can use commercially.
Photo Editing: For a free photo editing tool, you can’t beat picnik.com. They have a variety of fonts, shapes and frames to make your photos dazzle.
Free Music. Need some tunes to add to a video? You can download free music at Internet Archive. The site boasts that the audio archive contains “over two hundred thousand free digital recordings ranging from alternative news programming, to Grateful Dead concerts, to Old Time Radio shows, to book and poetry readings, to original music uploaded by our users. Many of these audios and MP3s are available for free download.” You want to double check licensing of each work before use. Look for Creative Commons License that say “No Rights Reserved.”
Create Videos. You can create free videos using AuthorStream. With AuthorStream you can upload a PowerPoint slide presentation (bonus tool: you can use OpenOffice, which is free, to create a powerpoint-like presentation). In AuthorStream you can share your PowerPoint presentations, or turn them into a video to share them on YouTube (and you can add free music from the above mentioned site, Internet Archive).
Free Ebook Cover. You can create a free ebook cover at MyECoverMaker. This is a great resource for adding a little sparkle to a report you have created or to rebrand a PLR report. If you want to read a more indepth post about this cool freebie, you can check out my post, Creating Your Own Ebook Cover.
If you have found any cool freebies that you would like to share, please comment below!
Until next time ~

Norene,
Thanks for the list. I will be checking out those free stock photos! Another great freebie is the free trial of Market Samurai – my favorite keyword research tool. Highly recommended!

Brian, yes I totally forgot about Market Samurai! I use it almost daily — it is my favorite research tool as well. Thanks for the post! -Norene
